Recently, during it's recent volatility. Dumb question IYHO?

i dont think its volatile at all if you zoom out, you should understand they pick very high stable dividen stocks in like the sp500, their holdings is very broad, think maybe only like 5% of tech, so when the market rotates out of tech and buys other regular sp500 stocks, schd keeps climbing

and when ppl were rotating out of the other 10/11 markets of the sp500 in 24 to go into ai, it had delayed growth

also timing the market never beats time in the market

Thank you, I am not in any way trying to time the market. I realize and accept that is a loser's game. I merely "got in" at a random point in time, and have been witnessing and experiencing the volatility of this holding of late. Thus far, after an initial decline, it is increasing rather handsomely.

schd is for those near retirement imo for the divis, if you have time i would dumb into schg, both by schwab, but one is about dividend, and one is for large cap growth

also if you use any type of portfolio visualizer and see the comparison of schd vs schg, schg wins all day everyday

Thank you for this! I am retired, and I do not use any sort of portfolio visualizer. I will look into SCHG though, and again, thank you very much. I do appreciate your and anyone else's opinions and insights.
