Today we arrived in Austin, Texas, for the first round of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup. We got here around noon and after getting lunch and our credentials we headed to the track.

The place is great. Now I understand all the praise. The track is very technical and tricky and will be a huge challenge for everyone. Turn one is very steep and if you mess up in the the "esses" your lap will suffer.

We'll keep you posted throughout the weekend. Wish Anthony luck :)

Keep him away from the kart tracks, I don't like being passed that much during an endurance race.

First race ever? No. Motorcycle race, yes.. but not the first race ever. Formula 1 was there last year and Lewis Hamilton won it. The track was built specifically to bring F1 back to the US. It now has MotoGP, American LeMans, and Australian V8 Supercars signed up as well. This is truly a world class track.

Anthony goes out at 9:55 Cali time. I will head down the pits to see him After that.
He has two qualifying practices later today. Hope he gets a good grid spot for tomorrow.

I kind of don't like that everyone looks pretty much the same (there should be some individuality allowed with the leathers), but I just noticed they've incorporated each racer's national flag into the sleeves which is pretty cool. And it's also in the front mud guard.

Anthony looks VERY focused there.

Both had some issues in P1.
Joe blew a motor.
A tucked the front in turn 1.

Both are AOK.
