Brian Williams; PTSD, Alzheimers, or just full of shit?

Why should we expect the people that broadcast the "News" to tell the truth, anyway ?

Not everybody does expect the truth, they already have a publication.

Network news has been nothing but the "scare old people" news for a long time. I don't see how any of this is even relevant to my life. :laughing

I doubt anyone really cares but it is entertaining to watch the network reaction. They all probably have groups sitting around spinning stories and basically lying by omission if a fact doesn't fit the narrative. So to pretend this minor incident is so unacceptable is pretty funny.

Anyhow he's out for 6 months without pay. Just goes to show financial planners are right on with suggesting always have 6 months pay available in cash just in case.

He's out for good. 6 months is to let the scandal blow over. Williams is done. Replace him with Shatner already.

If he only said he was transgender before the news came out.

Funny how so many people care. The guy gets paid to read stories provided to him.

Well apparently he was also a Managing Editor, so I guess he did more then just read news.

You should care, because it creates a whole segment of society who are ignorant about the truth

I am willing to bet the TV is THE largest source of news for most Americans. Few people read newspapers anymore. And as for the internet, most people just use that for Facebook and Twitter, oh and porn. It's not like they bother visiting Al Jazeera or Christian Science Monitor or any other legitimate source of news.

That's true. A round of the top UK newspapers daily does wonders to keep oneself informed.

I was laughing at the quote and this story. Apparently our cub reporter wanted to take over from Jay Leno....

"One can only imagine that Williams was wishing his anchor escape plan had worked out and that he was the host of The Tonight Show right now. According to two NBC insiders, when the network decided to move on from Jay Leno a few years ago, Williams lobbied NBC executives to give him the host’s chair. “Brian wants to be a late-night comedian,” one former colleague explained. “He traded on being Nightly News anchorman-war-reporter to ingratiate himself with Jimmy, Lorne Michaels, and Jon Stewart.”"

Uh oh, is Papa Bear next?

http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/polit...ing-questioned-by-liberal-magazine/ar-BBhLFH5

O’Reilly denied the magazine's allegations in an interview Thursday night.

"I was not on the Falkland Islands and I never said I was,” he told Politico. “I was in Buenos Aires... In Buenos Aires we were in a combat situation after the Argentines surrendered."

The authors of the Mother Jones piece argue that a protest, where Argentines demonstrated against the military junta’s decision to pull back from the conflict, did not constitute combat in a war zone. They said there is little evidence to suggest there was major violence during the protest.

I don't remember British forces landing anywhere near Buenos Aires...
