DUNE

Just saw this movie.

The entire time I'm like WTF you guys are immune to sandstorms wtf.

I mean super great lengths of keeping your body hydrated by wearing some suit or even shelter that absorbs and recycles the moisture into liquid.

Then I was like maybe blue eyed ppl are immune, but then everyone's immune so lol

It's like they totally glazed over the fact humans dont have a dust eyelid like camels do

also agree this should probably be a TV series vs a movie, I mean they explained absolutely nada about the witch and emperor just enough to confuse you but not really that intrigued to watch the next movie on the big screen.

Glad I didn't wander to a imax for the first one, not that many glamour shots or scenes that ppl were stating it was a must see in imax

While my nephew was here we watched one and two of the latest three part series.

He was blown away by the sound (5.1.4 Atmos) on my system and the picture on my LG Oled G3 via 4k BluRay.

He had seen them before but he's a huge fan.

He painted this; 12 feet by 3 feet IIRC.

A little bit of info on bit rates of video. Sadly there is the possibility that Sony will stop make 4k BluRay players next year which seems a mistake considering the ever advancing TV potential video quality. Never mind the improved audio for those with high quality audio setups.

Apple 4K streaming delivers video bitrates averaging 15 Mbps to 40 Mbps using modern HEVC (H.265) compression, while 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray discs run at 50 Mbps to 144 Mbps (typically averaging 80 Mbps to 100+ Mbps). [1, 2, 3, 4] 4k Ultra Bluray discs use lossless or uncompressed audio formats (such as Dolby TrueHD with Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD Master Audio, or uncompressed PCM), providing a wider dynamic range and deeper bass response.

Actually been really ignoring spoilers and previews on this one because I never read the book.

1 and 2 have been great so far so excited to see where it goes.
