Get Fit, Stay Fit, Feel Good - 2026

Also, bottles range in size from 550-1000ml. A 1000ml bottle would be very helpful for a bike w only one cage. Or two 750s is helpful for making it further between stops. The first aid of Oregon Fondo is around 2hr30min in, which would suck with only two 550ml bottles.

Oh! I have a 650ML bottle on each bicycle. (A metal, insulated podium bottle). The Oregon bike has a second cage for a water bottle and I put my smaller 550ml specialized water bottle on for longer rides.

The SF bike is going to get a second cage. I have a lock mount that is kind of a PITA but I’m pretty sure I could get a second cage on there and swap the podium for a 1L plastic water bottle.

@two wheel tramp, why don’t you get a running vest, they fit snug to your body so they won’t flop around and you can fit a bladder in them, plus all the snacks you can handle. Food and drink all in one.

You can find ones on sale for under a Benjamin. Amazon is your friend.

Love my USWE for long days and races where the gaps between sags are too long for bottles.

Mike and my SO found out that they aren’t one size fits all. They sell smaller and larger chest straps to accommodate.

@two wheel tramp, mine has an 8L pocket and will hold a 2L bladder plus two 500mL flasks. There is also additional places on the shoulder straps for gels and bars.
Nice. I had a generic camelback a million years ago but it would hurt my shoulders after a few hours. I think the wider vest straps might be more comfy. I’m looking at them now. Thanks for the recommendation.

Editing to add: neat! They have hydration fanny packs. I carry a fanny pack on the bike already.

If you have the opportunity I would recommend going to a running store or REI and trying a few on.
REI gets so much of my money. :laughing

And yes, I have to check to make sure the vest will fit over my hug bumpers.

I have the Outlander Pro. It fits a 2L bladder and like one sock 😅. It’s for racing, not for carrying other stuff.

My SO has the Outlander 2 for cycling and the Solomon Active Skin 4 for running. The running one is more constrictive for less bouncing.

I just bought this because my shoulders are truly grumpy and I know I can cycle comfortably with a waist bag. It holds 1.5L. With a bottle for sport drink enjoyment I think I’m set for a decent ride! Plus I wanted to get a better bum bag anyway so two birds, one stone and all that.

So stoked today. Didn't do gym Monday as stomach was still acting up from this last weekends adventures so today was the day.

Did chest routine today and hit 170 for 3 sets of 8 back to my original weight before the layoff. :applause
hit iron cross on cross over cables at 70lbs a side and butterfly machine for 110.
Then to cap off a perfect day hit 9 minutes on the treadmill and looks like it will be 6 more gym days and I will hit my goal of 15 minutes at a moderate pace and then will be increasing the pace for a bit.

Won't be hitting the gym next week as I will be in CT for work but plan on hitting the hotel gym for some treadmill and maybe some dumbbell work depending on what they have there.

I’m considering ditching Strava for data security reasons.
Well, if you find something you like more, go for it and report back. I have always kind of thought strava might be exculpatory if I ever got picked up on some bull shit. "Your honor I couldn't be at the scene of the crime! See! I was in zone 4 miles away at the time!!" :laughing I also don't think my location data is worth that much. Is there something specific strava is doing that bothers you?

Just back from the gym. I am super stoked with how consistent I am, but a bit bummed on how slow the muscle strength is coming back.

I am alternating days and take Saturdays off except for stretching.

Sunday: Ride the bike 20 minutes plus a couple cool down, PT exercises for the leg and leg weights. Stretch at night, both the legs and shoulder.

Monday: Ride the bike (same 20 +), PT exercises for the shoulder and weights. Do a PT session for the legs when I get home and then stretch the legs and shoulder.

Then repeat Sunday on Tuesday and Thursday.

Repeat Monday on Wednesday and Friday.

My cardio level has definitely gotten better and both the leg and upper body strength has improved but it is not like a dramatic increase over the 8 or so weeks of this routine. It is enough to stay motivated and want more.

I have been able to walk without the cane quit a bit lately, but absolutely need it going up and down stairs.
