Ya the consistent progress over the past 2yrs has been amazing. It’s such a weird feeling to consistently think “this is the strongest I’ve ever been”.

My target for tmrw’s 20min power test is 295w. Oooo it’s gonna hurt. Oh I should be carb loading rn!

You're pretty much the case study that hard work, consistency, proper eating and smart training pays off. Measurably!! It's been fun to watch in real time. I think at this point your recovery rides may overlap with my V02 Max/threshold rides. Maybe... :laughing

Seen this yet? I'm so fascinated by geezers crushing it lately. That can't be good lol.

I should have left my house an hour sooner. Then I would have had cooler temps and easily would have had 300w avg LOL. It’s ok, round numbers are made up. I’m stoked with the progress. My FTP is now ~286w or 4.3w/kg.

These are peak values. It’s how long I experienced the value during the ride. 184bpm for 10min was more than enough! My max HR is in the low 190s. Def gave it 100%.

I would pay to see a pedal bike with winglets and all the rice rocket farkles on it.

Hit the gym last night and got in an okay bi-tri-forearm workout. Didn't hit the treadmill legs weren't feeling it but will be going tonight and the legs will have no say so over whether they get on the treadmill or not as they will be worked out tonight come hell or high water.
 
My boss listened to me prattle on about cycling, stress management, and buying a new bike and said to let me know what I find and like so he can offer me a bonus in that amount. :laughing

In other news, my cat died Sunday and it's really wiped me out and sucked the energy and life out of me this week. I was going to ride to Mountain View tomorrow but I am not sure I have the juice in me right now.
 
Day off for me. Going riding tomorrow and want to push the distance to see if I can handle 150 miles. Back to Legs on Sunday and hopefully another ride on Monday. Exercise for the two wheel brain is much needed. We will see if the body is good with it.

Sometimes a good exercise resets my stress and emotions a bit, sometimes it does not.
Thank you, Literbike, Robert. I will see how I feel when I wake up tomorrow. I may go for a ride in the Marin Headlands instead or around GGP or something and then drive to meet my friend at the spa. We will see.

Losing pets is the suck.
 
Sorry to hear about the kitty TWT.

We lost one a few months ago. Little male black cat didn't want to stay indoors anymore and one day he snuck out of the house without us seeing him, and then we never saw him again despite many hours looking. It's a brutal animal eat animal world here in the swamplands and I have a feeling something caught him, although we still hold out hope he will show up one day at the back door wanting in the house.

Friday was back and shoulders day. pushed it a little harder on my sets last night and then hit the treadmill for a 11 minute run to get try and quickly get back to 15 after my 2 week laze about in Cali. That all went well but damn today sucks everything is sore because I had to skip wednesday and did thursday friday gym nights.
 
Some stuff with jump rope. Some of these tricks I got dialed with a FloRope.

I got my Sunday upper body workout in. The ride did not devastate me. Did 163 miles so a decent ride. All twisties.

Yesterday I did legs / did not ride. Today upper body again and I am feeling like those limbs are heavy. Feels good. Tomorrow legs again and then etc, but taking Thursday as just a light bike ride stretch day.

Friday I am riding to a BARF rally. :banana about 165 miles, but will have some freeway so a bit easier I think. I am expecting to take Saturday off and just chill / recover... do a little PT stuff. Sunday ride home.

No more cane. Going up the stairs all on my own.

ugh woke up this morning exhausted and not sure why. I hit the gym last night as Monday I played a round of golf and didn't want to overdo it so I pushed one day. Did chest last night had a pretty good hour long workout went upstairs and was going to hit the treadmill but someone was on the treadmill I normally use and its the only one of its type they have so I try to use it consistently so I can make sure I am staying the same. Did a quick stretch routine and took some extra time to see if the person hopped off but no luck so I called it a night and went downstairs to leave. As I was heading out said person was right behind me. :mad: Oh well it was too late so home I went.

Hope this ugh feeling goes away as well as the rain as its been raining non-stop since I got home from Cali and my yard is getting to the point I may lose a dog in the jungle if I don't mow it.
 
That is frustrating. Alternates at the gym are always needed. I am a go fast guy really. If the person is about my size and seems to be waiting I offer to have them work in. I rarely wait more than a minute in between sets. Waiting on others who will sit there for 3 - 5 minutes is ridiculous. If I did that I would be at the gym for 4 hours. :facepalm

That does not work for little women. If seats need to adjust etc.. then I will usually up the pace a little more and like I said I am pretty quick. The exception is bench press where I will take the time on the way up to near max weight.

Since I am headed out Friday riding I am going to keep it light until then. I want to give my leg some good rest and just do light PT and stretching. I figure I will be doing more walking than normal on both Friday and Saturday. I don't want to be hurting doing that or need to stop and rest etc.

We will see how it goes.
