Get Fit, Stay Fit, Feel Good - 2026

There's a comment my spouse and i toss back and forth and it's "no, i don't want to do this, but i want to have done it" and that kind of sums up motivation to do things like burpees for me :laughing

I pedaled almost 25 miles yesterday and rode over the GGB on my motorcycle and my bicycle yesterday. @Mario rode 60 miles from San Jose to join me then we rode then he added another 15-20 miles on his own to ride a century yesterday.

@stangmx13 kicked some ass this last weekend and I’m on pins and needles waiting for his race report.
I have never been to this side of BARF... kitchen sink? feels dirty

Great riding with you TWT! Next time we reverse roles and you ride down to SJ :teeth

Deal! Just let me work on my endurance. :love

Food, rest stops, a well fitting bike, and an easy pace can take you a Looooooong way. :)
Food? I love food! :love

I don't think it's a particulary hilly route to SJ, either.

may as well toss it in here, i posted in the PW thread (slightly PUI in celebration)

Sunday was the LibMo Half Marathon / 5K. I did not run the Half, because fuck running 13 miles :laughing

I'm pretty sure all the fast people did the half, but I had a decent time and finished a lot better than I expected overall.

Goal was under 25min. Chip time was 24:02, my Garmin GPS watch said I actually did 5K in 23:15. PR and 1st in my age group is kinda nice considering I"m not a runner.

Dude, you crushed it! That's an awesome time that a fellow non runner is impressed by. Great pace man.

BEEFCAKE!

Well done.

Burpees were used as punishment for the youth class students when they didn't behave byt the other instructors. I never liked making them do it because it didn't teach them how to correct behavior, it just punished them. I never had to get to that level, and my students were always well behaved (except one, but the owners of my gym actually had to ban him from classes. Sad, because when I met the mom, I understood why there were behavioral issues).

As a fat kid, I feel like using exercise for punishment is a bad idea. For a long time, it made exercise feel like a chore or a punishment rather than a fun and enjoyable thing.

Yeah! From my experience of teaching hundreds of youth students, I also think it's a bad idea. It doesn't teach actual behavior correction, it just makes the kids miserable and resentful, which is the opposite of what I want them to get out of martial arts.

the coffee was causing my cramps through it's diuretic effect resulting in low electrolyte balance. i'm down to 150mg/day now and it is improving. i don't want to change my diet, so goodbye coffee crutch :(

That's so funny you bring up coffee. I'm actually on day 2 of zero coffee. It's awful. After 3 nights in a row of less than 4 hours of sleep and I just had to try something. It's so weird to wake up tired against your will for no good reason. I got 6hrs and 45 minutes of sleep last night after my first no coffee day. Im going to be kinda pissed if this actually works :laughing I LOVE coffee and its helpful crutch effects.

I also decided to put down the thc for bit. Raw dogging reality without caffeine, thc or alcohol... :/

i also reduced my thc down to one bowl of vaped ground bud per day, mostly because i get home at 9 or 10 and just go straight to bed pretty much.
