Phoenix, the hot place

Winter is over in Florida.

In Daytona Beach college students are dropping from hotel balconies, Canadians have sizzled from pasty white to flaming pink, NASCAR fans have finally found their way out of the track and it's almost Bike Week.

Sherriff Chitwood already has the remote holding pens set up, the vendors of black tee shirts are set up, the mountains of beer kegs are set up and I-95 southbound is packed with Harleys strapped down to trailers.

Yes, I'm going. No, I won't be in a black tee shirt. You will find me in 80 degree sunshine watching the historic racing event though. Winter is over.

FYI, Az. is looking to replace death by lethal injection, with Firing Squads.
Chemicals are banned or discontinued that DO the job in a timely fashion,
I wonder if marketing that job of trigger puller to victims of the crime, would be a thing to do ?
Taxes are going up, this looks to be an easy sell, , ,

A little something about a boat launch, in Havasu.

yeah, when the front end starts to lift - always keep the throttle pegged. :rolleyes

will be going to Pheonix this weekend. Hope it is not too hot cause I'm not adjusted yet to hot weather as of yet. Although it's gonna be hot today but I will be working inside.

If anybody is interested in the mechanics of Monsoon, keep an eye on weather in Az, thru Tuesday.
We got a cutoff low dancing off Baja, for a week, and a tropical storm Alvin may show up.

Not "Official" monsoon which starts on a day of the calendar, without weather influence, needed.
We are looking @ most of Monday rain.

The heat is back, contest for time and day the first official temp of 110 for the season, is a contest with prize money. Sat listed @ 109, Sunday 114, Looking for Sat to go hotter for the win.

I did buy a "fishing shirt" used for Bone fishing in Florida, high humidity, SPF rated 50, meant to move sweat. on sale, for $17, I tried it. Work great in heat, with single digit humidity numbers.
Yesterday I bucket washed a couple, left them on the tailgate to drain/dry. It was taking forever to dry
they don't drain, it retains.
Temps to 104, breeze from the south @ 13, humidity 9%, I put a wet one on, WOW !
It felt like 40/50* on my skin, I just put on a swamp cooler.
Material hangs off, loose, doesn't cling like cotton, not that clammy.
Wore it dry, I was in and outside, it took close to 90 minutes to dry,
Roofers, if they only knew, , ,
I don't expect this much relief with double digit humidity.

Today, going to get my horse trough to lounge in, $20. off this weekend.

Stay Chilled

Not Phoenix, but I was in Sedona over the weekend. It was crazy hot. Things melting to the cement etc. Beautiful area though.

All time granddaddy of heat records, early findings about "heat domes"
and the fire that moved the bar upward.
