I went mtn biking with my old college friend yesterday. Perfectly healthy guy that spent a couple of years in the navy when he was 18. He hated it so much he was able to get out early. Anyways, he just let me know that he was able to convince the VA that he has PTSD and is 100% disabled. So now he gets 4800 bucks a month for life, free college so he can go get his PhD, free car registration, etc. His wife is also 100% disabled from the VA and she is a nurse. Neither of them have any physical ailments and he has never once mentioned his "PTSD" or issues ot me in the 30 years I have known him. I am not entirely sure how to classify our friendship anymore. I hate scammy people and they now feel like scammy people to me.

There are plenty of truly disabled so, yeah, this is theft adjacent.

I too could not hang out with such a person.

My niece suffers from horrible frequent migraines, she participated in a study testing out alternate
Methods to reduce frequency as well as intensity and had positive responses to lidocaine swabs way up her nose. Luckily her sister is a doctor and lived near.

I am going all in on minimizing vegetable/ seed oil to see if my arthritis gets better. It will suck but it might be a huge win. Living in constant pain sucks.
