My wife and SIL and BIL tell me this is a hilarious watch.

I do like Joh Hamm.

  • Plot: Jon Hamm stars as Andrew "Coop" Cooper, a wealthy hedge fund manager who is fired from his job and subsequently divorced. To maintain his family's lavish lifestyle in their affluent suburb, Coop begins stealing from his wealthy friends and neighbors.

Fargo on FX.

I don’t know if I’ve posted this before so I will add this suggestion. Everyone should watch this film: “Something the Lord Made”.

It is NOT a religious film in any way. It is the story of Vivian Thomas, a black carpenter in the 1930’s who went on to develop techniques and instruments that allowed the very first operations on a beating human heart. Previously it was thought to be impossible. He is the father of all cardiac surgery. And he is one of my two hero’s in my life. The film was made by HBO and stars Mos Def and Allan Rickman. Vivian did this all with just a high school education. And he became the director of cardiac surgery at John’s Hopkins university and was finally awarded an honorary doctorate at a special ceremony at the esteemed university. It’s a very inspirational film. And he trained pioneer doctors who went on to be top cardiac surgeons.

If you want to be inspired by what can be done without a degree, this is the film to see.

Still getting through Rooster with Steve Carell. It's very interesting to see the scenes of my college, University of the Pacific in the wonderful city of Stockton and know which ones were actually filmed there and other scenes there were filmed somewhere else. I spent 8 years there. My little sister was there for years after I left in pharmacy school. I know what is and what isn't.

I continue to keep been rewatching Black Sails lately. As far as show/movie content, I think it's one of the best portrayals of Captain Teach/Black Beard by Ray Stevenson.

It fuckin sucked when he died and they had to recast his character in Ahsoka, took some of that Star Wars money and ran with it. before he checked out. Also had a huge impactful role in Vikings, a different story but his character was very memorable. The dude who played The Hound on Game of Thrones will be his successor and I can see that working.

58 is too early to go. Makes me think of how hard it must be when the producers, director, and team of the whole project have to make on what makes sense and do that actor respect. Dying from cancer would with limited time in production would probably not be accepted well.

I'm enjoying Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, but mostly because of Kurt Russell :laughing

+1 for Black Sails. The clever blend of true prate history with fictional excitement makes it very enjoyable for me. Very well written and well performed in my view.

It killed me when I learned that the actress that played Max was Nora West-Allen (The Flash's daughter Barry Allen) so the nude scenes with her were like... NOOOOOOOO

What a duplicitous bitch she was in Black Sails... But a dog eat dog world and she got hers.

IT'S STAR WARS DAY!!!

I'm going to watch Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith

Generally I save that one for tomorrow: Revenge of the Fifth...
