Where do we post political memes?

Hey, those are my panties. :laughing

@MC BumSlap suspended for posting a hilarious, non-political gif? Apparently a gif is almost a meme. :facepalm

"The main difference is that a GIF is a file format (Graphics Interchange Format) used for short, looping, soundless animations, while a meme is a cultural idea, joke, or concept that spreads from person to person online."
The googles is your friend:

Had this been posted in reference to a blue car / motorcycle / sky / or berry, it wouldn't have been a blue-blip on the radar. Talking blue or red in a political thread, makes this pop-up on the radar.

Context matters.

In addition, this post is a perfect example of why this thread is going round and round on the definition of meme, let alone what a political meme is.

You guys missed this (except) a couple people.
McBum posted this immediately after the blue dude.

After a comment he removed it.

<Image removed - point made>

A lot of arm chair modding going on here.

Yes, it is a perfect example.
Whatever. Do what you do... but I'm not buying it, and I think you have your own agenda.
And yeah, I already know that what I think doesn't matter.

My "agenda" is simply zero tolerance for memes. No more, no less. I don't want to spend time trying to define if it is or isn't a meme, or if it is or isn't a political meme.

What is my agenda? Let's be clear and flush it out. Please tell me what you think my agenda is.

I think you have an agenda as well. A few others do to.. they want to have their memes so they can make fun of the situation and enjoy a laugh. I honestly understand that but we need to apply these decisions as fairly as possible and I guarantee as soon as someone posts something that you don't agree is funny you will speak up.

Do you recall the meme wars here? I was from the PolSink 1. That was truly ugly and time consuming. It will not happen again.

Sorry to set off a shitstorm for you folks...

A meme that contains a political theme whether an idea, behavior, style, or piece of media—such as a humorous image, video, text, or soundbite.
In the other thread, you said if it offends D or R. And similarly here, "If it is making fun of either side it qualifies."

I wasn't seeking a definition, but perhaps I subconsciously was. I've just taken that it's a political meme if it has anything to do with our governmental system. Like an image of a fire truck with some comment that might be correlated to political activity, like perhaps something with a Union deal, for example. Also, a plain picture of a politician has qualified as P-Trap fodder, such as one of Trump from his Apprentice show. I saw one of Kamala on the stage with flags in the other thread where I'm getting ridiculed, but it's OK this time I guess because there is really no red or blue context in the discussion.

Every meme is banned. Budman gave us 2 if not 3 chances. We had a Political Meme thread with rules to behave. I love memes but I have to agree with Budman. I wish we could enjoy a good meme and move on if we don't agree, but that has never happened.
I did not make the highlight but if I read it like I think it was meant, every meme is banned in the poli-sci forum, and that is easy and clear, and one reason I made this topic. I was not part of the fun days when you tried political meme thread. Too bad, sounds like a few bad apples killed it. I bet they were getting out-played.

And I get that we do not want political memes anywhere.

But, I've seen some memes be called political when they did not seem to come across that way. But without any definition or guideline it's tuff. So I wanted to post this but since it was already clear no memes at all in poli-sci, I wasn't sure if this would be considered an infractional meme.

And now as I think about it, all one needs to do is peruse the infractional memes in the P-Trap.

So just for fun, and because this is another reason why I made this thread, I wanted to know how this would be received.

And note, I consider this a political meme, but I also think it is not offensive to any party, their color, or any political viewpoint. It has reference to a fun, viral activity that I'm sure most of you actively participated in. So here it is.

Warning - potentially political content:

And if I get a holiday for that, I'll take it a mod got butt hurt for getting rick tolled [\spoiler]

:laughing

An American tradition, (actually a global tradition) are political cartoons; a tradition that goes back centuries..

I'm guessing they are not allowed in the political forum which just seems.............................odd.
