ADV/DS ride Lake Berryessa/Knoxville OHV/Rayhouse Rd.

I rode most of this solo on a Tiger 800. I'm not particularly skilled or experienced in the dirt. It had Scorpion Trail II tires, ie not knobby.
 
Myself and another rider from the Nor Cal Dual Sport Riders group are gonna ride to and through Knoxville tomorrow. We are meeting at the deserted cafe off 121/128 at 9am. All are welcome!
 
anyone going tomorrow? I'm tempted, I imagine it's been long enough since rain that the dirt should be perfect
 
went out Reiff Road today, a little muddier than I was expecting (didn't get any pics of the bad areas). not all that sure I could get back up some sections. wouldn't do it alone solo on 17s within a week of rain.

Is Reiff a road you can get thru just fine on 17s (street) when it's dry?
 
given that I made it through with some muddy areas, I imagine it would be fairly easy if not for the mud

I've done it on my NC700x with street tires a couple years back. I think it wold e a lot more fun on the Beta with good dual sport tires. Your 701 would eat it for breakfast :teeth

I saw a guy out there on a quad not far before the tree, I assume a local

the detour around it isn't too bad

Yeah, it took me a few laps to find it. Felt stupid after I found it, since I was pretty Not Smrt while looking for it.

Plus, is playing with chainsaws really work...?

So the gate at the west end was still open?

the only closed gate I came across was the one at 16

I will say that I'm surprised they don't have a gate to keep trucks off the bridge from the west, given that many people ignore signs

This gate about a mile in from the west end usually gets locked about now.

Thumper Fitz are you all fixed up yet? I am eager for a Reiff revisit....
 
Anyone going on Sunday? I need a tote around from someone who knows the area better than I do.
