What is the best sandwich?

The lines for their ravioli around Thanksgiving and Christmas are so huge. They are very popular for a reason.
Their son recently passed away, they closed for a few days. Friends say Mom is still running things in back and things are normalizing. Don't know who is the "new" GM.

My top 3:

  1. Banh Mi
  2. Pastrami
  3. BLT
Banh Mis are pretty versatile and can be substituted with different meats but every time I eat one, they taste so fresh.

The Reuben is my favorite, followed by a new england style grinder with hot roast beef and swiss cheese.
We’ve been going to Cato’s on Piedmont Ave for 30 years. Eric always got the Reuben, which grossed me out because sauerkraut. I always ordered the Obama…hot sliced roast beef, melted Swiss, avocado, carmelized onions, some sort of aioli, on a grilled roll. So good! One day I said “Reuben” instead of “Obama” by accident. When it got delivered I ate it since it was my mistake, and that sandwich changed my life! Why didn’t anyone tell me?? It’s not on the menu anymore, and other Reubens just don’t measure up. I miss that sandwich every time we go there, and I rue all the years I turned my nose up at it.

When I was a child, my mother used to make olive sandwiches. A can of sliced olives, mixed with mayonnaise and spread on white bread. I used to love them.

We ate sliced dill pickles and mayo on Wonder bread. When Mom
was at the bar all night we’d make grilled peanut butter sandwiches for dinner.

I haven't been to Cato's in forever. I think I'll have to remedy that!

Well, when you do you gotta let me know! I’ll amble on over. I can almost see my house from there 😃

Used to be a place in Haye's valley called Moishe's Pipic, their corned beef sandwich was just corned beef and lots of it between 2 slices of light rye bread. They put some kind of condiment on it that was kinda like thousand island dressing but it was basically just beef and bread. It was an excellent sammy.

I'd forgotten about heat place, it was great. He give our dog a little corned beef anytime we brought him. Augie loved that place.

This is my own creation. Smoked Tri-Tip on a toasted Hoagie Roll with pan fried broccolini and Worcestershire mayo. It hits all the bases.

That sounds like a sticky mess. And that reminds me of a time, sitting at home at the dinner table. My kid brother was eating a peanut butter sandwich, smearing it all over the place, including his face. So I asked my dad, “Doesn’t that look like Mikey is eating a dirty diaper?”. My father completely lost it, he was laughing so hard.

This thread reminded me that my son used to make himself a baloney, cheese, mayo and PBJ on wonder bread. He loved it. He had free reign to make his sandwiches for school and this was his go to.

Don't judge me but used to cut hot dogs in half straight from the fridge, put ketchup on the bread, then hot dogs in the middle and eat it cold.
