What is bullying? Are you a bully?

As someone said here, you both believe you’re right after a thorough discussion.
Time now to back away and get on with other business rather than keep pounding away.

Little kids aren’t going to die tonight if you can’t agree on counter steering.
It’s not a big deal.

In the immortal words of Elsa from Frozen - let it go, let it go.

Does this mean you're not going to answer the question asked?

Does everyone need to back away, or just a certain member or two?

Are you going to back away and let it go let it go let it go?

If berto started a counter-steering thread and I immediately posted that even though I had never ridden a motorcycle, I believed counter-steering was a myth and instead new riders should just lean and steer in the direction they wanted to go; and then many many very experienced riders point out that that is incorrect and I didn't have the knowledge base needed to post about counter-steering but I continued to offer shitty advice and even if berto asked politely for me not to post and I ignored him and continued to post about "just lean, man. it'll work out in the corners..." and then the owner of the site asked me to stop posting and I still refused but then mention that yes, maybe I did ride a motorcycle a long time ago but I still don't think counter-steering is needed...

...would y'all be defending my right to shit on his thread?

berto, would you be defending my right to shit on your thread?
Depends? Mods can mod. Owners word and actions define what is defensible and what isn't. This isnt a public guaranteed space that let's u tout ur 1st amendment rights. If owner/mods want a clean, as factually accurate site as possible, it takes work and effort. Where do u then draw the line? Minor bad advise (can't harm anyone if done) or major bad advise (dude, u shouldn't use your front brake at all, e.g. can get someone killed) ?

Verum Super Omnia — Mean Dad’s motto, “truth above all,” and honestly if someone posts something wrong and gets corrected, that’s not bullying… that’s just another day on BARF.

I see the same handful of BARFer’s that like to waltz into a thread, drop an extremely opinionated, one-size-fits-all, “truth bomb” and then feel “disrespected” if anyone disagrees with it. If someone vigorously disagrees, then they start crying “bully”. And, of course, if multiple people disagree, then it’s “dog piling”. Yes, Berto seems to often be the voice for these people. Whether that is voluntary on his part, or he is asked to step-in, I don’t know. As I told Berto in person, I don’t take much here very seriously… I’m having fun and I’m looking for the humor in most interactions. I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings, but if you keep pitching the ball to me, I’m gonna take a swing eventually… it’s what I do. If you want to post crazy shit, post it up… but don’t tell me how to respond to it. If you don’t like my delivery, oh well, can't please everyone. If you want to ignore me, that’s cool. If I break the TOS, report me. But all you arm-chair psychologists can save your whining about being bullied for the caring circle. You’ll get no sympathy from me… I’m an equal opportunity offender. :twofinger

I’m just opining that things should be kept in perspective.
After both sides have stated their points with facts and opinions they both believe are true and they still disagree, why keep at it?
There’s nothing hanging in the balance for being right or wrong. No prize to be won.
This is a motorcycle forum for God’s sake, nothing more.

In Meandad’s hypothetical scenario, wh is the bully?
Is he the bully for suddenly monopolizing a thread whose original intent was to inform?

That's the neat thing about facts, they don't care who believes them. :dunno

Perception became more important than reality a few years ago.
I think that is why there are more narcicists around than ever before, we now live in a world where losers are now influencers.

Bullies are wannabe influencers.

Man, I cringe every time I hear that term though as it is usually self anointed.

Never confront a narcissist who will rage through the night if identified.

cause most people who suffer from NPD are infuriating so it is projective identification at its finest.
