Look, there are many things I disagree with with Al Davis...moving the team, certain roster decisions, coaching decisions, etc. But he was an innovator both on and off the field and did a lot for the game. I do hope history will be kinder to Al as time moves on, but as long as the Raider haters and Davis hater still live, it's going to be a long road.
 
the book describes the 60s and 70s, the ownership changes, team moves and the battle between Davis and Rozelle. How the NFL changed into what we have comes from those times and Al Davis was a key player in shaping the game we watch today.

Yeah, you are about to get me started on my disdain for Don Coryell, which may help describe my general disdain for the AFC (far more Pass First and High Speed than typical old school NFC) even more.
