I just placed a deposit on a Chinese Unicorn!

It’s crazy, I’ve committed to something I’ve never seen but a few people around the globe who I respect, like Moin, have really liked this bike. The only consistent complaint I hear is the egos are tight for anyone taller than 5’8”

Nice G!

I want a grey one. The new KTM 390 ADV is also calling to me.
Auburn has one left that’s grey. They aren’t gouging unlike other dealers in the area. The 390 ADV R looks promising, but price, seat height, and single cylinder disqualify it. I don’t have the skills to do more than wide track and am excited for the dual capabilities.

I'm looking forward to hearing your feedback on this bike. It's definitely a candidate for my son, who is very interested in riding and he'll be 16 in a few years (or 5 minutes LOL)
Is the kiddo already riding dirt??

Good to hear the 2nd generation is interested. :thumbup

My boys lost interest by 8yo.. one found it again at 16 and lost it when he went to college leaving old ass Dad on his own.

He did a couple of Firstrides classes from SFMC and he's been bugging me for a dirt bike ever since. He's also on a Mountain Bike team. I need to get him into a Garrahan class to keep the flame alive.

That class will help keep him alive too.
My kids are in their 30's and accomplished riders. (One son, one daughter).
There aren't too many cooler feelings than slicing through a nice section of corners with your adult kids in tow.

Oh, for sure! I'm a huge proponent of training! If/when he rides on the street, I'll be sure he gets good training.

Met a guy with one on Wednesday. They aren't available in Thailand, turned out he rode 3 days from Malaysia to get here for Burapa. He loves the bike. Started it up for me, sounds great. Until I'm seeing how they hold up after 50-100k on them I'll stick with Japanese. But they do look promising.

If I was still commuting everyday not sure if I would’ve gone with the CF Moto; however, I know some folks that have big miles on their 450 NKs. :dunno
I’m looking forward to Moin’s take after a season on the rental fleet.

Gwynne, i hope the ibex brings a big ass smile to your face.

Speaking of chinesium I’m a couple hours north of Guadalajara in Téul de González Ortega and Italika’s are the bike of choice. Just over $2,000 for a 250 with calipers reminiscent of ‘80s Hondas.IMG_8512.jpeg

I know some would like a ride report but I’d feel dorky being one of the few riding with a helmet.😮

Follow up after my test ride of the Italika DM 200. Glad my friend rarely visits here, fortunately he only paid $1,000 for his. Only put 30km on and never went over 40 and the engine sounded like it was knocking at anything but steady throttle. We changed oil and it didn’t sparkle so that’s positive as is my first ride of the year. I did like the bike better the more I rode, takes me awhile when I ride on some strange. I don’t think many of these bikes leave town so it ain’t bad for cheap reasonable transportation. The Honda dealer in Guadalajara has an XR190 for about $3,000 so I know where my $ would go. My buddy rode a 2020 model with 8,000 km on it so that might be typical mileage.I was somewhat surprised at how many Chinese motorcycle manufacturers there are. CFMoto seems to be the the highest rated and I’m sure Thumperx will confirm this soon.

I'm excited about the little Ibex. The 450 motor has been around long enough to get an idea of it's dependability. I spoke with someone trading an NK450 for the Ibex. The NK has north of 20k miles without any issues or problems. The build quality of the CF Motos seems to be respected.

Sure hope it lands in the back of your van soon!!!!!
I am excited for you Thumper!
