iPhone Duo - who’s getting one?

My iporn doesn’t have a number or trade in value. If it fits in jean back pockets I’ll get an eye out.

lol funny you mention Honda. In the past they were an innovative company. These days, their business model is to sit back and see how everyone else does things…what’s good, what goes wrong, and then use that data to come out with their own version.

Sound familiar?
yup. innovation is a crap shoot. if you have the luxury of patience, optimization has the potential for much higher yield.

my dude worked for apple for 18 years (quit when we bought our property and moved up to the mountains). he was recruited heavily out of his aerospace background by john (yeah - that john) who was head of product development at the time. he resisted for months until they made him an obscene offer he couldn’t refuse. during his tenure, there was a significant shift in focus. i love it when he talks about the strategy and tactics during those years.

Trying new stuff can definitely be a crap shoot. I think they knew it was going to crap out and cut their losses when it came to car they were developing. Probably one of the best and worst kept secrets in the car business. Everyone knew they were working on one (I even interviewed for a position on their team, though they never disclosed what the “team” was). Yet even to this day, I can’t find one single credible piece of information or picture as to what that car ever was going to be.

I didn't like Steve Jobs, but I think he was brilliant, possibly one of the best business minds this country has seen.
He clearly understood his customers, it would have been fascinating to see his mind at work in meetings like that.

Wife is a diehard Apple user/buyer.

I have an iPod or three, for the cars, that's it.

But she has AAPL stock she's had since before the first stock split which happened in 1987.

Fixed that for you. ;)
I bought at the same time and sold after it had doubled to pay off some taxes.

Doh.

I figured I'd diversify and yada yada and should have just held on to it but we've done fine anyway.

Evidently it is a flop sales wise so just give it some time for prices to plummet.
Sold out pretty quick. If you order one now, they can’t deliver until next year.

Yep, so much for the promised availability date of October 23.

I ended up pre-ordering one for my wife at our local AT&T store yesterday around 4:30 and the delivery date is Dec 3.

My buddy’s wife woke up super early the day preordering went live and she still missed out on getting it on release day. Think hers comes in first week of November. So they either didn’t make that many for the initial availability, or these things sold out faster than getting A group in the old Southwest days.

*ahem*

6 million units sold as of Friday...$12 BILLION dollars.

May get to 10 million units by years end. Such a flop.

I'm a hater.
I won't do Apple/Starbucks/Harley. :laughing
And I won't eat at restaurant's with more than one location... but that's just me.

How do you enforce that last one?

Only eat at places you know the entire story of?
