Tesla Model 3: End of the Internal-Combustion Engine?

Mostly I notice Tesla mods a wraps, protection film, chrome delete. Occasionally lowering springs, yet this company does custom builds.

Made it 15 seconds. Wanted to gouge his eyes out.

Yeah, like he went to the Nickelodeon School of Sales. But, if he's go the info you need..

Tesla is going to run into a cash problem in the next 1-3 years. They just built a giant factory in China and that's their next big sales opportunity. I think the US is tapped out for growth now that the early adopters have their rides. So what better fit than a Chinese company with gobs of national cash backing acquiring brand equity along with all the tech and patents. There's a reason they bought Lotus and Volvo.

FYI, the Shanghai factory is already building Model 3s. Unlike other foreign brands, Tesla owns its factory and is not required to work with a Chinese "manufacturing partner".

I dont know how many of you guys spend time in Asia, but Tesla appears to be very popular in China and Hong Kong despite heavy tariffs to imports them. Of course, the Tesla Shanghai Factor avoids the tariffs and shipping.

I still watch him, but he’s very much and obviously become a business now. What I mean is that quite a few of the videos these days are sponsored/paid promotion.

Shmee is annoying as hell, but he's laughing all the way to the bank. He's making millions.

Whether Tesla has a cash crunch or not is 100% dependent upon their sales in China. Tesla is all in on China and it will make or break them. While I still don't like the stock, I wouldn't bet against them surviving. I would bet against them ever being acquired by a Chinese company - there's no way that's happening IMO, unless they totally failed and were being sold in a fire sale.

New Tesla factory announced today. In Germany, Berlin area.
Otch! --Dish served cold to the German automakers. If you are a auto worker in Germany, your outlook may have brightened.

Tesla stock is not far from its all time high (whether they deserve it or not). There is talk of 'short squeeze' which ironically why the the stock can peak so high. Sorry shorts. :(:laughing

I'd be astounded if the Chinese don't have several very real ways of forcing compliance from Tesla.

Here are some of their tricks: If you have a business in China, be prepared to use a bank that you are required to use. Be prepared to purchase materials from certified Chinese manufacturers and suppliers, and that includes chemicals, seed, paints, glass, you name it. You don't get to certify it, however. You get to accept Chinese certification that their chemical production process and final product are equivalent to the American or Euro product you were using. Be prepared to no longer have any oversight on who is hired. Be prepared to see the state dig deeply into your every day business. And be prepared to be told who to talk to, who to do business with, and who your friends are.

You going?! Keep us posted man. I have a big event that day I can’t miss or I’d try to head down.

I'm not going to the truck reveal. I would consider it, but that is a trip. I want to a stock holder meeting when it was at the Mt. View Computer history museum when I owned the stock (not anymore). It was fun, a lot of good energy and super fans. I like following the products and company because of my long time interest in alternative energy, but I dont think Tesla is without fault like some people do.

MSRP says $60k and I'm not even sure what kind of car I'm looking at from those photos. Gran Coupe? Hatch? I dunno man...wouldn't describe it as looking "great".

It's called a crossover.

And also it's more like $35K after the tax credit.

I wouldn't describe the Model X as looking great, I think the Ford looks better.

Looks like no rear passenger headroom and reduced cargo capacity. I hate the stupid sloping roof lines on modern crossovers. Give me a proper sport wagon and day.
