Fair enough
I turned that feature off early, lane assist is only operating with cruise. Bless my partner's heart, she sat in there for hours thumbing through the manual and setting things up in menus. She's also the type to program the VCR, which she did as a kid. I can see how analog peeps would not benefit from a raft of features, and impatient peeps would just give up.I've freaked out a few moto's as i moved over to give them space only for the car to violently jerk back over due to lane assist. I've been training to hold the wheel tighter, but it still jerks somewhat until it gives up.
When i was 6, i programmed our VCR. Figured out how to connect the nintendo, work the antenna motor and worked the remote controls for my parents (when i wasn't the actual remote).I turned that feature off early, lane assist is only operating with cruise. What irks me most is that not buying the car apparently not an option. Out consumerism blinds us to how this whole place works, which is that ultimately support for the tech comes from our pocketbook. That's exactly how we show our approval for what's being offered, but it's almost as if we really want the tech for the express purpose of complaining about our systemic oppression. Almost..I mean, at that point killdozer is the only option right?Imagine getting your title in the mail after paying off your recockulously long car loan and in the same week getting a letter from the manufacture stating that your appliance is now obsolete and won't be supported any longer. Here's an low interest rate offer on a trade in!! Definitely killdozer territory. Its 2026 and we are honestly debating the nature of "ownership." Wild.
Being a dick ain't so bad. Its actually the pussies and assholes you have to watch out for.Let's not glorify that POS, thanks. I suppose I get why people removed from it are all about it, but that dude was a complete dick.
Penor Face, the only "tech" I want in my car is electronic ignition, fuel injection, power steering, power brakes, airbags, ABS and cruise control. If the "tech" it's only been around for 10-15 years, I will probably pass. If the car can connect to my phone for streaming music, cool. If not, I got a stack of CD's that still work great, mostlyWhat irks me most is that not buying the car apparently not an option. My phone handles navigation just fine. I don't need cameras, I don't need radars, I don't want automatic assistance from the sky above if something goes wrong. I want to own a vehicle with 3 pedals that is reliable and useful and paid for.Just a point of clarity: To me the Kildozer represents a response to mindless frustration. The lore I'm familiar with says the kildozer guy was trying to be fair, wasn't ever listened to and acted out of desperation. The way I head the story, he went out of his way to only damage property and not hurt people. I realize that the highly sanitized version I'm describing may not be accurate.Let's not glorify that POS, thanks. Take a peek at the millions and millions of recalled cars & trucks by Ford/Chevy/GM right now and you'll see the End is already upon us. Guys getting not one, but two or three warranty engine replacements & trannies.

The Tribe of Vehicular Luddites (TVL) accepts your inclusion of power locks, doors, mirrors and keyless entry. We reject all technology designed to compensate for poor spatial awareness as it just breeds laziness and dependency to a degree we deem unacceptable. Thank you for your attention to this matter.Would blow to not have power windows and mirrors, having to lean over roll down the passenger window.
I’m digging the cross traffic alert warning me of pedestrians and cars when I’m backing out of parking spaces.
Blindspot detection is pretty handy also.
As are tire pressure sensors, parking sensors, vented seats…
Yeah I think we may be into that "frozen in time" part of aging, but I still like some of the assist stuff. It's not really all that different from abs, because it's all in that "just in case you're bad at ____" category. Anyway, people are misguided in where they point the finger. It should be at the consumers which tell everyone else "YES PLEASE!!!" with their pocketbook. And that's the only measure, not writing your legislators, or complaining on the internet, etc.Penor Face, the only "tech" I want in my car is electronic ignition, fuel injection, power steering, power brakes, airbags, ABS and cruise control. Yes to the aging AND, I think the strings that come attached to the new doo-dads are not worth it on the face of them. I'm not even that mad at manufactured for making cars so damn expensive. Look at all the unnecessary shit they have decided to add because their marketing people and bean counters say we want them and they will make more money including them.Yeah I think we may be into that "frozen in time" part of aging, but I still like some of the assist stuff. Here is a fun question, would you buy a brand new car or truck from 20 -25 years ago for $20-25k? I would. I would buy a new one of these for $20K today if I could. 4L and a manual trans please.
