TV Shows I am enjoying …and Movies

I did finish the Star Wars Spinoff Andor and it was good.

Watched THE THING on 4K Bluray and even that excellent format couldn't save that hopeless 1982 stinker.

I am watching TOPGUN / Maverick.
Think I saw it when I was lit because I don’t remember much :laughing

Enjoying it.

I never saw the original. We were supposed to go see it on our 2nd date 40 years ago... but we got sidetracked. :teeth

I have it on good authority the first one was not realistic. This one is.

Came from Enchanters Top Gun Commander.

The Boys is without any question, NOT for children.
I haven't watched this show because I don't have Amazon prime, but I've read that the final episode is quite disappointing, similar to the GOT final. It's a shame that these engaging shows let down their fan base with crappy endings.

I’m really enjoying The Middle with Patricia Heaton on Prime. Modern family dysfunction in its normalized perception.
9 seasons so it’s a long lasting event for binge watchers.

Apple Friends and Neighbors

HBO Hacks

That wasn't how I felt. The writing was a little soft, but all in all, not bad. You cannot compare Season 5 against all the others, because Karen Fukuhara has speaking lines, which makes it even more divine than all the others.

Think Ill wait for it on D+. Not sure why they thought this was a good idea to bring to the big screen.
Oh, absolutely.

I've really enjoyed the "Outer Rim" universe of the Mandalorian. Makes the "Star Wars" galaxy much more lived in.

But Disney still seems to really struggle with it.

Apparently they're coming out with a new movie that has nothing to do with anything else, so no baggage to hold it back.

We'll see how well that is recieved.

Watched Mortal Kombat 2 today. I liked it. I really only care about the opinions/reviews from people I know. I don't watch random review videos on youtube. Seems like the majority of them are just trying to say whatever is provocative to get more traffic through their page.

Some of my friends didn't like it because the plot seemed stale. I'm like... What do you want them to do? It's a movie based on a video game where they just kill each other and no one has plot armor good or bad, each fight you don't know who's going to lose. The first 3 weren't really good at that. 30 minutes into those movies you pretty much knew who was and wasn't gonna make it.

That's what I liked about this one. There was an actual tournament style with 5 fighters on each side. The first movies, Outworld was doing a lot of cheating trying to take out Earth's best fighters before they could be matched up with anybody in the actual tournament at no risk to the tournament outside of losing one of their fighters. Most of Outworld's wins where from there attempt to cheat. In this new movie, Outworld was still doing the same thing but if their fighter loses, they lose one of their 5 spots in the tournament. And to be honest, the previous movies weren't even tournaments. It was just a bunch of matchups over the whole movie with no count of who's up and who's down until it's time to fight the final boss.

Also, I didn't like that Shang Tsung basically seemed like an aristocrat that wasn't really much of a threat. He didn't need to be in the movie.

Anybody watching The Boroughs on Netflix? It's silly fun. Stars Alfred Molina and Geena Davis

Me after watching season 5 of The Boys....
